Village
Government
A Mayor, Village Clerk and six Trustees, who are
elected officials, govern the Village of North Riverside. The four-year
terms are staggered, with elections being held in odd numbered years. The
Mayor, with the concurrence of the Board of Trustees, appoint a full-time
Village Administrator to oversee Village services and operations, business
affairs and department heads. In addition, the Mayor and Board of Trustees
receive findings and recommendations from a number of appointed citizen
advisory committees.
The Village Board Meetings are the first and third Monday of each month except July, August and December, when they meet only once. The meetings are held in the Council Room at the Village Commons at 7:30pm.

Voter
Registration
Residents may register to vote at the Village Clerk's
office in the Village Commons, 2401 S. Desplaines Ave. You must be a United
States citizen, age 18 by the date of the next election and have resided in
the precinct at least 30 days by the date of the next election. You will also
need to provide two pieces of identification, of which one must show your
current address in the Village.
By registering, you will be eligible to vote in national, state, county, township, local and school district elections. State law prohibits the acceptance of new registrations and changes of address in the 28-day period prior to an election and for two days after an election.
