Community Service Officer Program

Community Service Officers are non-sworn personnel and are assigned to assist sworn officers of the department by performing traffic control at special events, enforcing rules and regulations in Village building and parks, and other support services.

These officers are additional "eyes and ears" of the North Riverside Police Department. The CSO's wear a distinctive brown uniform and carry two-way radios for immediate contact with the police department.

During their service rounds, CSO's patrol the Village Commons, Commons Park, and Veterans Park, and provide basic security services at these locations.
