IMPORTANT LAW CHANGE REGARDING DISPOSAL OF ELECTRONICS

Beginning January 1st, 2012, State Law  will ban the disposal of computers, televisions,
and other electronic devices from Illinois landfills.

Under the new state law, electronic waste (also known as e-waste) must be recycled by a registered collector, recycler and/or manufacturer.   E-waste includes computers and monitors, printers and scanners, laptops, keyboards, fax machines, video and game consoles, TV’s, cable and satellite receivers, DVD players and small scale servers.
