The ordinances seek to promote a desirable neighborhood living environment, prevent nuisances or preserve property values and the natural environment.

The Department of Code Enforcement employs two part-time inspectors that are responsible for inspection of all retail food, food service and temporary food establishments and nail//hair salons in the Village to ensure compliance with Village codes and state licensing requirements.
