Notice of Examination for Police Officers
The Board of Civil Service Commissioners of the Village of North Riverside will conduct
competitive examinations to establish a two-

Packets will be available on January 27, 2010 until February 14, 2010.
Application packets and information may be obtained at the North Riverside Police
Department, 2359 S. DesPlaines Avenue, North Riverside, Illinois, 60546. Packets
must be picked up in person and signed for by each applicant. The application fee
will be $ 3. No mail request will be honored. All forms must be completed in their
entirety for consideration and must be received by the Desk Officer in the Police
Department by 6:00 P.M., February 14, 2010. Mailed in packets will not be accepted.

All applicants must attend an orientation meeting on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 8:00 A.M., at the North Riverside Village Hall, 2401 S. Desplaines Avenue, North Riverside, Illinois, 60546. Acceptable scoring levels will be announced at the orientation. The physical ability test will be administered immediately following orientation, and the written test will follow that.
Applicants who are placed on the Civil Service Eligibility List will be subject to thorough background investigations and shall be required to submit to psychological and polygraph tests. Appointed Probationary Officers will attend basic training at a Certified Police Academy. They must also successfully complete the Law Enforcement Certification Examination administered by the Illinois Local Government Law Enforcement Officers Training Board.
