Formally incorporated in 1923, the Village of North Riverside's roots date back to
just after the Civil War. Then, its first residents were comprised of onion farmers
and members of the Riverside Holiness Association. It was also home to the legendary
Melody Mill ballroom of the Big Band era. Today, our community of 6,688 residents
is made up of active senior citizens and young families who enjoy the many benefits
and quality of life in North Riverside. Such benefits include senior clubs, a quilting
club, a thriving theater group, scouting and sports programs, as well as a state-
