In the fall season, Public Works will be gearing up for leaf collection. This program is for leaves that fall naturally in the roadway. Residents are expected to bag their leaves from their property and place them in a yard waste can for Friday pick up. We do not allow stockpiling of leaves in the roadway for several reasons such as:
- If dry, leaves can also burn easily presenting a fire hazard by hot exhaust
- Leaves are not illuminated, so when kids play in them, their safety is at risk
- Leaves can clog main sewer lines if allowed to wash in to catch basins
- The piles of leaves take away from the parking
