Depositing of snow on public roadway


Dumping snow onto the public street or alley it prohibited.  These actions can create a public hazard, impede vehicular traffic flow and can impair a driver's vision. 

8.18.010 - Consent of land owner required.

No person, firm or corporation shall place or dump any litter, trash, refuse, rubbish, garbage or debris, including snow and ice, grass clippings and yard waste (collectively referred to herein as "refuse"), onto any land located within the corporate boundaries of the village, which land is not owned by the individual engaged in such activity without having first obtained the consent of the owner of such land. However, such person, firm or corporation ("owner") may place snow or ice on that land owned by the village which immediately adjoins the land owned by the owner and which land is located between the sidewalk and the street. (The land located between the sidewalk and the street shall be referred to herein as "parkway"). In the event there should be a fire hydrant located in the parkway, no snow or ice shall be placed on or about the fire hydrant by the owner.
