The Census is about much more than just a count to determine the population of North Riverside and the rest of the country.
The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade.
North Riverside’s response rate will directly impact how much of that money is allocated for our services and programs, including funding of our fire and police departments, school lunch programs, libraries, road projects, community development, FEMA dollar allocation, and hundreds of federal grants.
There are four ways you can be counted:
- Telephone: (844) 330-2020 for English, click here for other language options
- Mail in your Census questionaire, for more information click here
- Come to the Village's administration office for assistance
It takes less than 5 minutes to complete the census and every person who is counted, no matter their age, or legal status, gives North Riverside about $1,800 a year. Over 10 years that adds up to $18,000 per person or $90,000 for a family of 5.
As of today, North Riverside’s response rate is at 77.5%, if you are part of the 22.5% who are uncounted, it is important to North Riverside that you take the time to complete the census. Remember, it takes less five minutes of your time to make a significant impact to our community.
