Free Face Masks for Residents

In an ongoing effort to provide support and protection for our citizens, the Village has partnered with local residents to provide homemade masks for North Riverside residents.  These masks, made of a double layer of regular fabric, are not N95 certified.  Although they will not filter and prevent the user from contracting COVID-19, they can be used to stay in compliance with the North Riverside and Governor Prtizker's face covering directives.

There is no charge for these masks, but they are on a first come/first serve basis.

If you would like to request a mask, please call 708-762-5431.  The masks will be dropped off at your doorstep in a marked bag.

ALL MASKS SHOULD BE WASHED DAILY IN WARM SOAPY WATER TO ENSURE THEY ARE PROPERLY SANITIZED.  PLEASE WASH THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE!

The Village would like to acknowledge the many local heros that have made this program possible.  Special recognition is given to Jeanette DeBartolo for donating the first 50 masks to our community.  Through local fundraising efforts, Jeanette with the support of so many residents, allowed the Village the ability to assist those at greater risk of this virus.   Also, a special shout out to Renee Zakosek, Audrey Sprague, and Patricia Gargano for partnering with the Village to provide a continuous supply of new masks and allowing the Village the opportunity to take this program to next level.  It truly takes a village!
